I emailed my cover letter and CV to email@example.com The HR is Ms. Nandita Mittal who deals with the internship applications and usually promptly replies within a week.
The firm is located in the heart of Fort, Mumbai. It is a posh area surrounded by many eateries. Veritas is located in Forbes Building and has two floors dedicated as their office. The interior of the firm is smart, classy and professional. All the legal teams and partners sit on the same floor and interns are to be seated in an intern-room that accommodates 6 interns.
You are supposed to work on their pc so there is no need to carry a laptop. On the first day, a friendly HR got us familiar with the rules of the firm – the dos and don’t’s. The firm has a very friendly environment with young and energic lawyers and interns are given the flexibility to go and ask for work from whoever they please.
Nature of work:
I got a lot of research work on Dispute Resolution matters and issues of Company Law, IBC and Competition law. The associates were friendly and coherent while explaining what the task is. The research would be challenging and detailed. At times even minor drafting work was given.
Although the firm has a hierarchy, everyone is equally approachable. Work was often allotted from Senior Associates and Partners as well, who also took the time to review and give feedback.
It is one of the most intern friendly firms. Friday evenings are looked forward to as everyone comes together to unwind over a few drinks. They create an environment where communication is appreciated and work is accomplished with a smile.
Nothing in specific. I interned during the December month so the workload was lesser. I feel interning in some other month would have given me the opportunity to do more diversified work.
